I can do all things with God who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:13

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,

that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

What I am is a gift from God. What I become is my gift to God.

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Psalm 23

I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 14:16.

Mother's Day

Yesterday, mother's day was celebrated around the world.

People have different ways of celebrating mother's day. It is not important how extravagant the celebration might be or how expensive the gifts we sent or received; what's important is remembering our mother or people who touched our lives and treated us as a mother would have. A mother's day gives us an excuse to tell our mother how much we appreciate them and what they have done to us....what we are now... without having to feel embarrassed.

I received several messages and good wishes from friends and family. Likewise, I sent greetings to my mother-in-law, sisters and friends.

I called my mother to give my greetings and told her that I am happy that she was able to travel abroad. It was her first time to board the airplane and I am excited as she was for this event. My sister Tess made this "first trip" possible so Inay celebrated mother's day in Malaysia! I can feel that she is very happy although she wished that Tatay is with her. I just told her that Tatay is very happy that his kids are now living the dreams somehow and family trips abroad are now possible... I know that this will not be Inay's last trip abroad...... her kids are now giving her a chance to relax and enjoy .... she has done so much for all us. It is time to return the favor.... Happy mother's day Inay!

Today is unlike any Thursday because we woke up early and we didn't go to Muscat City Centre. This particular Thursday was spent with friends from ETC (my husband Jun's department).

Jun and I stayed up late the night before to prepare our kids' favourite egg sandwich spread and potato chicken salad that we could take to our trip to Jabal Al Akhdar.

According to Wikepedia,Jebel Akhdar, Jabal Akhdar or Al Jabal Al Akhdar (Arabic: الجبل الأخضر ‎ meaning The Green Mountain) is part of the Al Hajar Mountains range in Oman, which extends about 300 km northwest to southeast, between 50-100 km inland from the Gulf of Oman coast. It is one of Oman’s most spectacular areas. The area is about 2 hours drive from Nizwa and is famous for its traditional rose water extraction and agricultural products including pomegranate, apricot, peach and walnut.

The trip to Jabal Al Akhdar was good. We stopped at several places to enjoy the spectacular view of the mountain and take souvenir photos. When we were about to make sandwiches for snack, we realized that I forgot to pick up the bag that contains the food. I left it infront of our building where we stayed while waiting for the 4WD. Because of this, we just had to do with what Jun has managed to bring along - chips, juice, water and a few biscuits. The trip coordinator made arrangements for chicken biriyani for lunch and we had a good lunch under the shade of a tree(!)

It was a great trip and it was obvious through some of the pictures taken from there.

Btw, we still got the food bag where we left it after coming back from the trip. That's h o w safe it is to live here :-)

... i was able to sign-in to my blog after sometime. I wanted to blog about many events that have happened to me and about other events that somehow made an impact to Philippines, to the world or to my job... but i was not able to open my account. Since I'm a bit free this week, I miraculously opened my account after several unsuccessful attempts. It was a relief to post my first blog here after quite sometime. You see, I don't want to create a new account and start a new blog. I wanted to continue with my original account started way back.

I hope I'll find time to post blogs here every now and then. This way, I won't forget my password;-)
