Goodbye Cory..

By now most of the people have heard the passing of former Philippine president Corazon C. Aquino at age 76 due to colon cancer. I'm sure many people have already blogged, twitted and posted comments and shout outs for Cory and I personally would like to write something about her, too.

I don't know what charisma she have but I am really amazed at how her battle with cancer and her death have affected so many people. The outpouring concern and love shown by people (some she hasn't even met personally) through the offering of novena, healing masses, and prayer rally for her recovery were evidences of how people look up to her. She might not be the greatest president Philippines has ever had but the way she carried herself and the way she treated people left a mark on the lives of people she touched. I don't know if we can still see such an outpouring love and concern.

The death of her husband Ninoy made her a household name. As an ordinary housewife, she was able to bring all Filipinos together and fight for democracy through people power. Her battle with cancer once again brought people together to knock on heaven's door for her recovery. I am very sure that for the last time, she will bring thousands (if not millions) of Filipinos together again and accompany her to her last journey to Manila Memorial Park.

Goodbye Cory! Thank you for touching the lives of so many people in your own little, humble way. Filipinos will never forget you. Your legacy will never be forgotten. May your soul rest in eternal peace.
