Advent 2011, Day 10

The grass withereth , the flower fadeth:
but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
Isaiah 40:8

Jesus said to his disciples:
"What is your opinion?
If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them goes astray,
will he not leave the ninety-nine in the hills
and go in search of the stray?
And if he finds it, amen, I say to you, he rejoices more over it
than over the ninety-nine that did not stray.
In just the same way, it is not the will of your heavenly Father
that one of these little ones be lost."

                                                                     Mathew 18:12-14

Because of the 'Parable of the Lost Sheep' I remember the story of 'Lola Aurelia Matias' that unfolded through Facebook and reach one of the popular networks in Manila.  When she lost her husband, she tried her best to find him.  I could feel her fear, fear that she may not find her husband again.  But thanks to a good samaritan and the communication technologies, they were reunited! She was so happy and relieved and the whole nation rejoiced with them.

When we are lost, we feel disoriented; we panic.  We hope to find our way and be reunited with our families.  The agony felt by our families is indescribable.  Like a good shepherd, our family will not stop until we are found.  Such is God's desire to find the lost souls, the sinners.  God is on a rescue mission to save us from sins.  Heed His call.
